Merge to reissue The Clean’s long-out-of-print premiere releases for their 40th anniversary

New release on vinyl: Stephen 'Radar of Small Dogs' LP. Late 80s / early 90s guitar pop/rock band formed by David Kilgour after The Clean first split. Available from Flying Nun and Grouper.

Two gigs in Christchurch this coming week. May 11th, DK and The Heavy Eights, downtown Christchurch in the afternoon then the Darkroom at night as part of Christchurch Art Gallery’s tenth birthday celebrations.

April 20th - daytime instore performance at Slow Boat Records Wellijnton, followed by an evening show at Puppies (WNG) with Salad Boys in support. This is a DK solo show with a few surprises. 

$15 pre sales, $20 on the door. Tickets from Undertheradar.co.nz. Doors 9pm. Salad Boys on at 9 30. DK 10 30pm.

Music by David Kilgour. 'Diamond Mine' performed by David Kilgour & The Heavy Eights. Poetry by Len Lye, William Blake & Colin McCahon (John 11:9)
The focus of the work is poetry and ecology. It uses 16mm and 35mm hand-painted film alongside archival and filmed footage. Its abstract painterly sequences are combined with text, quoting the poem ‘Night Tree’ by pioneering NZ experimental film-maker Len Lye, a fragment of ‘Ah Sunflower’ by William Blake and ‘Are there not Twelve Hours of Daylight’ (John 11:9) as quoted in the painting of the same title by NZ painter Colin McCahon.

New LP Falling Debris, in collaboration with Sam Hunt, will be released on Arch Hill Records in NZ on the 20th of April. David, Sam and the Heavy 8's will do a handful of shows over April / May. More on that soon. David's next solo LP is on hold until he gets this one baked.

The new Clean LP (tentatively entitled Monsieur Pop) is close, very close to completion, expect news on its release early 09, all going well.

The Clean's new Live LP, called Mashed, is out now on Arch Hill - please see the Press page for links to reviews or the Buy Stuff page for links to purchase the album. Also Tex, Robert and DK are finally preparing to mix the new Clean studio LP at the end of May. No release date for that yet.

The Clean's MySpace site has been hacked into and we can't access the site for now and maybe never will! It's a long story!

David is planning to complete recording a new solo LP over the next 4 months. Some tracks have already been recorded.
